Since I used to use a scrub, switching to a peeling gel feels like my face isn't quite clean enough. However, it is gentle and non-irritating, so it is good for using twice a week.
I bought it thinking it would be mild, and it really is mild, but it doesn't seem to suit me... it produces a lot of residue lol
I am leaving an honest review after personally using the Anua Houttuynia Cordata Laha Moisture Peeling Gel. I tend to exfoliate regularly because dead skin cells can cause my makeup to cake or make my skin feel rough. However, I prefer gentle peeling products because overly harsh scrubs can leave my skin feeling dry. When I first used it, I liked that the texture was softer and more moisturizing than I expected. After applying an appropriate amount to my face and massaging gently, I could feel the old dead skin cells naturally sloughing off. Since it is not a scrub type with coarse particles, I was able to use it comfortably without having to rub my skin hard. In particular, for areas where I am concerned about dead skin cells, such as around the nose, chin, and forehead, rolling it a little more thoroughly made the skin texture feel much smoother. After use, the areas that felt rough on the surface were smoothed out, and the skin definitely felt soft to the touch. I also liked that it didn't feel like it stripped my skin of too much oil. Some products leave the skin feeling tight after exfoliation, but this one has a relatively moisturizing finish, so my skin felt comfortable when I applied my skincare routine afterward. I found it particularly useful for refining my skin texture before applying makeup. Foundation or cushion foundations can tend to cake when dead skin cells are on the surface; however, gently exfoliating with this peeling gel the day before or on days without makeup made my base makeup feel smoother the next day. That said, on days when my skin isn't in great condition, I recommend monitoring your skin's state rather than forcing yourself to use it. The application was simple and hassle-free. Since you simply take an appropriate amount after cleansing and drying your face, massage it gently, and rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, I was able to easily incorporate it into my skincare routine. Rather than using it too often, I think it's better to use it at appropriate intervals depending on your skin condition. The 120ml capacity is generous, so I think it will last longer than expected. Since you don't need a large amount for a single use, I felt it was quite cost-effective. The packaging is neat, and the size is convenient for keeping in the bathroom, so I was satisfied with the overall usability. Overall, this product seems well-suited for those who prefer to gently refine their skin texture rather than using harsh exfoliation. My skin felt smooth after use, and since it didn't cause severe dryness, I personally was able to use it without any issues. It is a peeling gel that is great for simple care when the skin feels dull or rough due to dead skin cells, so I think I will continue to use it while monitoring my skin condition.
